I will be :) waste of time getting info I need from this place. I know a guy who has kept Discus for over 20 years, he'll know more about them than anyone else here. Don't even know why I bothered asking actually.

20 years of successful breeding, means he knows what he's doing. And thanks :D good luck filling new members' heads full of **** and putting them off fish keeping.

Yeah cos we gain a lot from telling people rubbish.

Surely the sheer number of individuals all telling you the same thing suggests that maybe they're onto something? Don't spit your dummy out just because you don't agree with it.

The answer to your question about treating the white spot is to use white spot medication. But you have said you don't want to - any particular reason why not?

I don't believe salt is good for discus - but I might be wrong, so perhaps you ought to try a dedicated discus forum for more advice. See how your 30 gallon goes down on there.

I'm not spitting my 'dummy' out at all. It's simply the people on here are too busy telling you what is wrong with what you are doing, rather than answering the questions they look for. This was actually a big talking point in a recent post to give feedback about the site, so there is truth to it, I'm not the only one.

Pumping a tank full with chemicals has never been the preferred method on this site, so why is it now?

I will be looking to other places to answer my questions. Fingers crossed, they'll actually be useful.

we are recommending that you add meds,as you are looking to cure white spot but the treatment is higher temperature, and salt, but since you have fish that are not tolerant of salt, and your tank is already at a high temperature, the only other thing that would help with white spot is medication :good:

i would like to see what other places say

I'm sorry you take objection to people wanting the best for your fish. Surely that is a common aim of the site. Perhaps listening to what is being said rather than saying "JUST ANSWER THE QUESTION" will show you that you need to take a balanced view of opinions! Those of your 'experts' and those on here. 30 gallons IS too small for three discus. It cannot support a decent size shoal, which can lead to stress due to lack of numbers, and it is too cramped for the three in there as they get older (if they're not stunted already), leading to stress from overcrowding. Stress can cause white spot.

Treating with white spot medication has been around for some time...it kills the parasite. Isn't that the aim?

And for the record, your question HAS been answered. You got some extra info for free along the way - bonus, really. Ignore it if you like, that's your choice, but you are coming across incredibly arrogant about something quite trivial - ie, helpful advice. Try saying thanks instead, not flinging it back in people's faces.
