condys can be pretty forgiving. Glad to hear someone else here is keeping one. What made you get a condylactis over the other more popular species?

well this was before i had any big lighting. i got the condy when i was first starting out. i think my tank was up for about 2 months or so. it was my first ever marine tank. i saw the condy at a local fish store for 10 dollars. it looked pretty neat (nice and pink). so i was asking about it and i asked the guy what it would take to get one. i told him what i had. he told me that if i got a 50/50 bulb replacement then i shoudl be fine. he also said they are very hardy. so i said why not. i bought the bulb for 25 bucks and the anemone for 10. it was my very first "coral" ever. i was honestly expecting it to die, but its still alive so its there lol. its the only anemone i have right now, i dont dare put it back in my 55g lol.

so to answer your question directly i got it because it was cheap and easy to keep. i know i'm a newb lol

yep sure is a good beginer nem. it got me ready for other corals :good:

so i checked my nitrates today and for some reason in was expecting the worst. i couldnt believe the test results...i have 0ppm nitrates. i even checked it again, and then yet again the following day, same results. wow i must be doing something right. i'm very happy.

also my xenia split yet again. then another one is also about to split. so i'm about to go to 5 xenia...just 2 or 3 weeks ago i only had 2. awesome :hyper:

i'm sure you'll have good luck with the xenia, from what i hear they are pretty hard to kill.

my good news however did not last so long...one of my ocellaris have gone missing...they were both always out, never hiding. he was swimming around fine and eating fine one day, and over night hes gone...no idea what happened to him at all...

So many disappearing clowns on this forum lately. Sorry to hear it man, hope you dont end up on another wild goose chase after a mantis shrimp :p

lol i hope not either. i doubt i have one though, no clicking or anything. and i have crabs and snails and gobies that are still alive. i dunno, i wonder what happened to him tho. no way i can find out cause i have to many rocks lol

maybe i should put up a video servailence system for the fish and that way i can have evidence against whoever did it! :shifty:

that would be a very...shocking...situation...if the lamp was plugged in that is...ok never i'll shutup i suck at jokes lol

hope i sure havent :( its gone, so i'll just have to get used to it. i'll probably go and get another ocellaris so the one thats in there has a buddy. hopefully they wont fight or nothing. i'll have to find out i guess.

i also bought a frogspawn today, has 5 or 6 heads and about a dozen buds at the base. i'll take pics later, it's acclimating right now

well i got my remora pro installed:

In other bad news, my tang is gone as well. dunno whats happening. my corals are splitting and my fish are dying...doesn't make sense. oh well

i've seen my engineering gobies try to attack my shrimp before and one scared away my blenny when i had it. so i figured they were the problem. so they are now out of my tank and in one of my other tanks.

i doubt i'll even get more fish anytime to soon, to hard everytime i loose one. it's wierd though because same thing as the clownfish the tang was swimming around just fine the night before, eating and everything. it had been ich free for almost a week. i dont have any hithikers that might have gotton them either i dont thing.

either way i rearranged my tank and recovered the body of the tang before it polluted the water anymore then it already has. all my readings are right on as well.

well i now have very good reason to believe that it was the gobies who did the crime. the tank that i put them in had 2 damsels in it. i put them in this afternoon and not 6 hours later one of the damsels ends up dead. i've had both damsels for about a month and they have been perfectly fine.
