Thank you to the one person who agree's with me.
I have had MANY betta's. My sister has 8 and I help her with thoughs. I only take one at a time so I dont have that many ten gallons. My sister has the males in 5 gallons and the females in 10 gallons. In all I have had about 7 betta's and my sister has had around 19 and she is possible going to do breeding.
DO NOT SAY I KNOW NOTHING OF BETTA'S.
So you think your betta wont like a ten gallon, then get it a five.
All of the betta's I have had, loved bigger tanks. I have had to do some quarenting with some and they NEVER like anything smaller than a 5 gallon.
If fineland really does have a law like that then they are very intelligent people. I am from the U.S. .
Why would this topic close? I am stating my opinion and what I (and a lot of other people) think what is right for a betta.
Yes, some betta's do kill tank mates but you dont have to put it with another fish. My point is you should give your betta MORE than what they use. It isnt a waste.
I have had betta's that have lived to a little over 4 years in a ten gallon. A filter, heater and frequent water changes is the key for a happy betta.
If you arnt going to get a 10 gallon in any way then at least get a small filter for the important bacteria to grow on.
A small shallow tank is a little better than heighth but it is still at risk of a drop in pH or ammonia spikes.
When you are recreating its natural habitat you would recreate what it looks like. You wouldnt want to recreate the danger's. That was a silly answer.
Who says debate has to be calm and I am not yelling am I? You cant tell because I am behind a key board.
I say its the breeder standard because people who do not breed usually care enough for one betta to be in a nice big tank while breeders dont want to take up that much space. If you breed the pet you must be able to house each and every one of the potetial 500 babies.
I can compare a 2.5 to a bathroom because the waste is sitting there for a week before it is taken out...actually its worse than a bathroom.
