Fishaholic
Well, I have been thinking for a while now, and decided i should start a little farm of brine shrimp. I have just ordered 500 brine shrimp.... In which i will keep 2/3 for breeding and to watch intil max growth (well maybe not max, but to a decent size) and the other 1/3 i will feed to my other 2 tanks, making a nice treat for the fish. My aim would be to mass produce brine shrimps (if you havnt guessed)
I have a few questions about this though, which i hoping someone could help me out.
I have a fairly large house for them, (i have 1 large box....and if worst comes to worst, i have 3 used sea money homes things, which i had when i was younger. The big box is around, 30cm long, about 15cm from top to bottom and 15cm wide, which IMo think thats a good size)
1) I am right that a need an airstone in there? If so, Would it need to be on 24/7 or just a few hours a day?
2) Could I just simply use the water in which the shrimp come with, And then perhaps add tap water? If i was to add tap water, How much salt would i have to use? (would table salt or sea salt be alright?)
Well Thats the only 2 things im finding hard to answer, so any feedback, thanks very much!
