*yawn*

i didnt say goldfish bowls were ok for bettas i just said someone was doing it...

...whatever

i guess its fair to say i have been told

Haha, I think you did! :p

But honestly mate, it hardly costs anything to set up a 5gal tank for your betta.

You can get them little acrylic ones.. 4gal for about a fiver, i think.. then a hydor mini heater for a tenner... dont absolutely need a filter, but you can make your own sponge one for next to nothing.

then just use any other bits and bobs you got lying around for décor. :good:

I was being a tad sarcy

But they look fine and healthy to me and are not being moved so bash away :shout:

wow, what an ignorant twat

No need at all for that.

truth is, many of us are much more experianced than others, So weather you consider it arogance or not, we do know much more than alot of people and we are merely expressing our opinion.

People have commented on the arguments being thrown around in this thread with proof that doesn't really exist (the temperature of a small body of water any where will vary highly, whether it be a puddle in Asia or a goldfish bowl, in fact I'd say indoors the goldfish bowl would drop less and stay around room temperature, my tanks stay heated with no heaters...)

I still can't understand why people won't accept that the fish are getting on fine together....

Space does make me laugh :D

Bettas do better when they are in cooler water AND have atMOST a gallon of water. If they have more than one gallon of water, they will DIE!!!!! -_- -_- -_- -_-

I BASE THIS FROM KEEPING BETTAS FOR 25 YEARS!

Jeesus!

Rice paddys arn't small bodies of water!

bettas may live in a gallon of water but will thrive in more, i have kept bettas for a while now and find that they did betta in a 5 gallon compared to a 2 gallon, both were heated and filtered with weekly water changes. the minimum i now use is a 3.5 gallon.

mrbudgie: at least consider seperating them, i no it 'can' be done as i have done it in the past, i have also had it goe terribly wrong resulting in the death of both fish male and female.

LOL i cant believe this thred is still going.

ppl if the OP wants 2 listen 2 all the comments even the nasty 1's then so be it if not then let her/him be, if they decide 2 fite and hurt ach other then hopefully she/he will learn from mistakes!!!! afterall thats how most of us fishkeepers gain our experience from learning from mistakes.
