Critter? (Solved!)

Yah, its been a while since seeing the movie but I have seen it...
And the scene in king Kong was from one of the newer versions (not 2017+ but it was in the 2000s) and was the beginning scene that I happened to catch on TV one day. These big white worm things come out of this mud and *SLURP* humans gone.
Ah sorry, I haven't seen that film either! But Tremors with Kevin Bacon was one of my favourite films as a kid, and it still holds up today! Just a really fun movie

You need to watch the original 1933 version, with Fay Wraye, Robert Armstrong, and Bruce Cabot...a true classic...people actually ran from the theaters in terror and panic, the world hadn't seen anything like it

So, no new revelations overnight about what the critters may be? I'll try to do some research this weekend, if I have time...weekends are busy for me....starting this morning, with getting the lawn done

I'll check back in later...ciao for now

I've never been into any king Kong movie. I have seen parts of it I believe... But again, king kong and godzilla, stuff like that I'm not that into

Aww, I loved all of the classic monster movies as a kid....I had about a dozen of the Aurora movie-monster plastic model kits...you gotta be ancient like me, to remember those...parts of them were "glow-in-the-dark"....terrified my sisters, lol

The critter looks alot like a Burrowing Wolf Spider (Geolycosa). They can and often do burrow or use someone elses burrow once they have evicted the resident who dug it out. Very fast little spiders, they live like the Trapdoor Spider (Ctenizidae) but without the trapdoor....very similar hunting technique, stay in the burrow, feel the vibrations of potential prey, scoot to the surface but not outside the burrow, see if anything munchable comes by and grabs it...if nothing munchable, they scuttle back down their burrow again til the next vibration is picked up.

While I agreed with you at first, have you checked out the second video?? It's terrifying! Have to play it at super slow speed to get a proper glimpse of it when it exits the burrow... gah!

View the vid on YouTube (click on the title of the vid in my post, it will open another web page to YouTube)

Pause the vid at the very beginning, choose "settings, playback speed", and slow it down to .25

It lurches out at the very beginning, and then again about 20 seconds (on the counter) into the vid

LOL....I just noticed when watching it at .25 speed, if you turn the volume up, you can hear Marley barking in the background...she sounds like some OTHER kind of evil critter, at that speed

Ooohh, what kind of doggy is Marley? Pic pwease?

It's actually at about the 15 second mark, with the vid slowed down

Here's my pretty girl...

She's just a rescue mutt, but we love her like she's our child...as we do our other 2 rescues :)
Hey, there's nothing wrong with a mutt! Usually healthier than purebreds, and it's always great to rescue!

Mine is a mutt :D Not strictly speaking a rescue - I bought her from a dodgy backyard breeder I was sent the ad for, and I broke every single rule there is about buying a dog. All of 'em. But I couldn't leave her with those people once I'd seen the photos, and then in person.

They said she was 100% springer spaniel - I could tell she wasn't, but didn't care. Had a DNA test done when she was a few years old just to satisfy my curiosity, and to confirm my question about if she was part border collie, and she is! Mostly English Springer, a big chunk of Border collie, and at least one grandparent was a super mutt apparently. Has bits and pieces of DNA from a pointer, whippet, lab, and others I can't remember off the top of my head, but pretty mutt like overall, and she's wonderful in every way!
