Corys for fry tank

Hi willywonka099 :)

I'm glad to see you got the albinos. I think you will be very happy with them.

Don't worry about the pH. If they were OK with it at the lfs, they are most likely used to it by now.

I can't wait to hear how they are doing in your tank. :D

Thanx for all fo the advice inchworm :)

They seem to be adjusting quit well. Although I wanted a little cat to sit on the bottom and these run around and arevery hyper !!!(lol) I was almost laughing last night at their enthusiam .... Looks like it is about time for a lid haha

I gave them a shrimp pellet this morning but they don't seem to want it. What do you suggest ???

They seem to be okay with the fry; I figure with the way that they are acting the fry would have to be on the bottom of the tank sitting there for them to actually just eat it (as you said :D ) and the fry would have to be sick if it didn't run anyway

My cories took a few pellets to realize what to do with them :)

Oh okay thats good ..... since it is a fry tank should I remove it and maybe try again in the evening or the morning ?
Hi willywonka099 :)

Yes, never leave uneaten food in the tank because it will spoil and turn into food for bad bacteria  .

Do your fry seem interested in it? What are you feeding them? Maybe your corys will eat the same thing and save you some trouble.

Mine do that too - it's just part of what makes cories so much fun to watch  They're the hardest workers in the tank, without a doubt!

Hi willywonka099 :)

Corys are a lot of fun to watch. Look closely at the way they use their barbels like little fingers to find the food bits that fall to the bottom. I think they are amazing little fish.

The corys probably love the BBS, and as soon as your fry are big enough to switch to a finely powdered flake food the corys will be eating that too. :D

Oh okay .... What do you guys feed you corys .... I figure once i try some cut up blood worms the will eat those at the bottom also ??

I feed mine same as what the other fish eat. I have a slight overfeeding problem and the food I feed sinks eventually (but before it would go bad) so the cories just grab it up. About once a week though, I do drop in a shrimp pellet or 2 and everyone in the tank loves those

They may still just be settling in :)

Hi willywonka099 :)

Your corys (and your other fish too) will go crazy over worms, especially if you can find a lfs that sells live ones. In this country the lfs usually carry tubifex and blackworms live. Either one is good, but the tubifex are the smaller of the two.

If you want to try the live ones, post here and I'll tell you how to clean them and take care of them, if you don't know already. :D

How big are your corys?

They are about 2 inches Inch worm ........ still juviniles I asume .....
Hi willywonka099 :)

That's a good size to be able to get. They are still young, but not babies anymore.

When you look down at them from the top can you tell if one is wider and generally bigger or smaller and thinner then the others? If so, there's a chance the bigger one could be a female and the others males, or vice versa. They might still be too young to be able to tell, but maybe not. :D
