Just to mention again, but it's obvious, the Ph was no issue at all. Mine is either 7.4 or 7.6(stupid API test) and corys are fine.
I think it's better if you consider adding a second filter for a start if all you have is a 1000L/H on a 300L tank. In the long run you would need better filtration than that and a filter will also add to the flow. Then one small powerhead additionally which shouldn't disturb your sand depending on how and where you point it.
The surface movement was really a suffocating one so I agree with all you need to address it urgentlly. It's not just the fish that need oxygen in a tank, almost all other important processes need it.

I like snazy's filter idea. I've done this myself and it works well especially with a hang on the back type filter like the Tetra Whisper.

Thanks! Sadly, I can't afford another filter for now, but definitely consider! Thank you for answering the sand question!

I can't put a hang on filter on my tank, since it has a "lip"; a glass panel around the top of the tank. You can see it in my video.

Anyway, thank you for your answer! :)

I've used the Tetra HOB's on tanks with lips but the powerhead will do the trick.

Hi!

I've ordered my powerhead and it's said to arrive on the 26th of December.

Until it arrives I decided to make some changes to the tank: I shortened the length of the spraybar and placed it below the waterlevel then pointed it upwards, so it would help ariation. I shutdown the bubble stone however, because my angelfish got a pink lump on it's side and people said it could be caused by the bubbles.

Today, I lost another cory.

When I lifted him out I noticed that one of his eyes where white, and the other one was missing. They recently laid eggs which probably died out, because I couldn't take them out of my tank.

Is it still the powerhead problem, or is it something else?

I'm sorry for bad formulation and grammar+spelling errors but I'm so depressed over this that I cant think straight
I probably wont sleep tonight...

I should also add that the water smells completely like poop and there are some midges flying around it, the waterquality is normal, the tank was cleaned 2 weeks ago.

Well, #70###.

I just noticed that another cory was dead.

Thats 2 corys dead for today, 2 living.

It was in the same state as the other one...

Sorry to hear that. All that is very bad. The tank needs a deep water change as quickly as you can to get the rot and ammonia out.

If it smells and has insects I would say more and sooner, honestly.

I honestly cant do it right now, it's midnight where I live.

Tomorrow I have to go to school, so I can only change the water at 5 o clock when I get home. I can try to do 75%?

I understand. You can only do what you can do. 75% is what I would recommend. Some may recommend even more. Be sure to vacuum out the gravel as you do this to just to get anything out of it that might be rotting as well. Let us know how it goes in the days to come.

Alright, I did an 80 procent waterchange. They look fine.

I also found that one cory didn't die, it just hid under a big branch in the sand. He's alive!

Anyway, I'm watching as the bubbles float up in my tank.

Can't wait till the 26th...

Thank you for your help!

Glad to hear he was still alive!
