Coronavirus...post your thoughts here...

My side effects were very mild and lasted less than 24 hours. I did water changes on two tanks so they can't have been very bad :)

My aunt takes care of people who get covid so she had to get the "vaccine" she said the symptoms from the "vaccine" where worse than when she actually had covid.
Guess its different for different people. Had my first dose yesterday (the AZ vaccine). Today after water changing the 4 tanks I went for a 20km cycle. SWMBO had hers 3 weeks ago and she felt pretty rough the following day but was fine after that.

In the US, they're predicting almost everyone who wants a vaccine will be vaccinated by the end of May. I had my first shot a couple of days ago and get my second one in 3 weeks.
I keep seeing that this “Dr. Faucii” guy (or however you spell it) says we may be wearing masks until 2022.

Hi,

So I had the oxford jab at 1:55pm or so, time now is 16:55 so that's three hours, I don't have any allergies and don't think I am allergic to anything in my life, my grandmother and parents were fine, if I have not experienced any of the following by now would it be safe to assume will not? I looked up vacine possible side effects for astrazeneca vacine however nothing notes a specific timeline. Thanks in advance.

Very Common (may affect more than 1 in 10 people)

  • tenderness, pain, warmth, itching or bruising where the injection is given
  • generally feeling unwell
  • feeling tired (fatigue)
  • chills or feeling feverish
  • headache
  • feeling sick (nausea)
  • joint pain or muscle ache

Common (may affect up to 1 in 10 people)

  • swelling, redness or a lump at the injection site
  • fever
  • being sick (vomiting) or diarrhoea
  • flu-like symptoms, such as high temperature, sore throat, runny nose, cough and chills

I had very mild reactions the day after. Fuzzy head going into a headache later in the day, slightly raised temperature and feeling very tired. The day after that I was back to normal. So vaccination on Tuesday afternoon, mild side effects on Wednesday, back to normal on Thursday.

I did also have a sore arm start a few hours after the vaccine which lasted for 3 or 4 days. I've had the same thing after every flu jab for the last 20 years, and three doses of tetanus vaccine in the 1980s, and a sore jaw for several days every time I have a local anaesthetic at the dentist. So it's not a reaction to what's in the vaccine just a reaction to having liquid injected into me.

Interesting, my mum had a saw arm and said to me to get the vacine in an arm I don't usually sleep on however I had no pain and I presume its because she is older? I have never had a sore arm after any jab. I am virtually never ill, when I am its a proper stomach bug vomiting job..

I never listened to that guy he is always changing his story. One day he say wear a mask then other he says don't wear a mask.

Oh dear, vaccine supply issues, the way I read this though I will still get the second one as a priority in 12 weeks time and its just the first time vaccine applications that have to wait?

That guy is kinda twisted. I don’t trust what he’s saying, but lots of other people do.

The masks until 2022 may be a bit dramatic. The vaccine I already out.

I think he's largely been supportive of wearing as mask. Yes, it is true that early in the pandemic there were questions about the mode of infection, which could reasonably call into question the utility of wearing a mask. I voiced those as well - until the evidence was in. Those have long since been dispelled.

This is the thing about learning, and we are all learning about this because it is a new virus; sometimes we find out new things and it changes what the best practices are, or the advice is. If you draw a line in the sand and decide beyond that you won't change, then you will simply be left behind. Views consigned to the dustbin of history: The Earth is the center of the solar system; Typewriters are easier to use than computers. It is change and adaptation the propels us forward. This is a novel, i.e. new to humans, virus. We are learning. You can choose to come with us if you like.

Well I had the jab 13.55 felt fine until my shoulder eventually started to feel sore at 22.00 I had difficulty with sleeping last night, not owing to the shoulder pain which last and still is light, but I just couldn't sleep and I awoke every hour. My intestines feel queesy like I ate three tubs of grapes yesterday. Bit strange. Feeling drowsy but I don't know if that's just the tiredness from the lack of sleep.

Considering what could happen if you caught the virus without having had a vaccine, the side effects are nothing in comparison. I'd rather have a sore arm for a few days, a one day headache, a one day slight temperature and feeling tired than take the risk of being in intensive care on a ventilator. My age, and the fact I have asthma and type 2 diabetes (albeit still diet controlled) means I am more likely to end up there than a young healthy person.

I have most of these symptoms already and I haven't had the vaccine yet :(

That's a really good idea, I never even thought about that. I was gonna get the jab in my right arm because I'm left handed, but I sleep on my right so left arm it is. Thank your mum for me :)

Did that when I got my tetanus shot a few years ago. Sister sort of exaggerated the pain.
