Coronavirus...post your thoughts here...

Wooo, finally got my second Pfizer jab yesterday. In 2 weeks time I should be protected and safe to go to shops again. Now I just have to hope it doesn't kill me. Apparently the side effects of Pfizer get worse with the second dose.

The Australian federal government was dribbling on about everyone being vaccinated by December 2020 and I finally got done now. Only half the people in my state have been done and 99% of those live in Perth, the capitol city of WA. Nobody in the country towns has been done yet.

I have now had two injections, my arm hurts like hell. My second injection was three weeks ago, and my right arm is still numb. I can't believe the discomfort it is worse first thing in the morning but hurts all day. The vaccine should have been better than this.

You might be sleeping on that arm and that will cause it to ache for longer. I try to sleep on the other side until the ache is gone.

I slept on my other side last night. When I woke up my arm had frozen up, I yelped which woke my wife, she asked what was wrong.

Which vaccine did you have?

Our elder son (just over 40), my husband and I have all had Astra Zeneca, we all had sore arms for a couple of days and I felt 'under the weather' the day after the first jab but not after the second. Husband and son only had sore arms.
Our younger son (just under 40)had Moderna and he found he had more side effects after the second, similar to those I had after the first AZ.

Waiting for the booster jab now. The 180 days is up next next weekend.

I had my annual flu jab 2 weeks ago and I had a sore arm for 2 days after that. With me, it's fluid being injected which causes the pain, not what's in it.

We only can get the pfizer jab here in NZ.

They tell you to keep moving the arm in the first couple of days to avoid the muscle getting stiff. My mum found a jacuzzi helped with the sore arm (after a booster).

You should check that out at doctors.
Pain from vaccine shouldn't last that long.
And pain being worse in the morning sounds a lot like you got pericarditis.
It usually resolves itself but it can be serious issue.

Thanks, I have been thinking that. It is flipping sore most of the time. Something isn't right.

You should.
They say it and myocarditis is really rare, like 50 per million. But I already know few people who had it, including myself. I think it's a lot more common then official numbers.
I think most people just don't go and see the doctor and it resolves itself in a week or 2.
I had 4-5 days of skipping hartbeats and funny feeling in the chest after 1st dose, then it went away. Light pain in the arm for 2-3 days and 2 days of swollen lymph nodes.
But I know few people that had pain like you (usually in left arm and/or shoulder though), lack of energy for more then 2-3 weeks and got diagnosed with myocarditis or pericarditis.
Worth a trip to doctor just to make sure it's not heart.

I had those two Pfizer shots earlier this year and had no side effects at all. With my illnesses, I thought I would get some problems after the vaccinations. But nothing happened with the exception of a sore arm the day after.

This coming tuesday, we'll have another press conference with probably re-instating certain regulations. For Holland turns pretty red again after getting rid of most regulations this past September. Even I've already noticed that with the current flow of people getting hospitalized because of covid, that my appointments at the hospital are getting delayed again. Which is a pain the butt. Simply because recently, metastases have been found in my lungs. With the current number of covid patients, it puts my chemotherapy sometimes on hold.

So sorry to hear of your health Stan. I have everything crossed that you get the treatment without delay.
