Coronavirus...post your thoughts here...

I think people here in America would take it more seriously if there weren't so many obvious double standards. For example, here in DC, my church is still not allowed to meet even outside, even with masks and social distancing with more than 100 people. However, the Mayor marches with 50,000 people at a time in protests. No social distancing and many not wearing masks. The Mayor of Philadelphia banned indoor dining, then was caught eating indoors in Maryland. The Mayor of Chicago closed down salons, then was caught in a salon herself. Same with Pelosi. The Governor Of Illinois ordered shutdowns but flew his family on vacation to Florida. The husband of Governor Whitmer was out trying to get in the front of the boating line after she ordered shutdowns. Those are just the examples that come to mind. No one has said a thing about all of the hundreds of protests of tens of thousands of people where no one was practicing social distancing and many were not wearing masks. Then you have Dr. Fauci saying this Spring that no one should wear masks, then he flips and says everyone should. Then he's at a baseball game not wearing it with his friends. It's hard to overlook all of this.

According to the news, our numbers are going down. No spikes even with Labor Day Holiday. Hope this trend continues.

I bought a mask to wear for Halloween. I tried it out last night when I went to the supermarket. It was like the parting of the Red Sea. People would scatter as I approached. No one would come near me. I had no trouble keeping social distancing.

On another forum I was on there is a large thread of people agreeing that covid-19 is harmless and all restrictions should be lifted to build herd immunity. Whilst I think the lockdown measures can be a bit harsh,I'm surprised at some who refuse to wear a mask because it's inconvenient to them.

I am just grateful that we have a female leader and everyone in New Zealand listened to her at the beginning. Even tho Auckland has had a few cases, where I live we are just back to normal on a day to day basis we don't even thin about covid-19. We were lucky that we had the wage subsidy scheme which paid our wages while we were in lock down, and that money was paid within 48 hours of applying for it. Very pleased with our government.

Luckily for you you live in what is alongside Switzerland one of the two most civilised, sensible, mature countries on the planet.
The barbaric selfish turn a large % of this country have taken over the last few years astonishes me more each day. This has been handled badly from the off over here and sensible people could see it at the time. We are now heading for the seasonal weather C19 is supposed to thrive in. Fingers crossed. I’ve a relative working on one of the C19 vacc programmes (Oxford iirc) he’s optimistic apparently.
Im asthmatic. I’ve not worked for over 200 days. I honestly now think it could be a year before I work again. Getting a train then a tube into London five days a week would be like playing Russian
Roulette........youre gonna be stuck with me for a while yet. I hope.

It has surprised me that the civil libertines have been so against social distancing and lock downs especially in the states

I really want it all to be over :( I didn't get to say bye to my senior friends which is sad.

Well I have just read this article and the punishment was harsh for not wearing a mask.

Also why are these idiots potentially making things worse?

Like we have herd immunity against other similar virus like the common cold and influenza?
