Congratulations You Are Todays Winner

OK I am getting a little sick of being todays winner (was yesterday too!!). When I click on a topic on this forum, I have done so to read that thread not be whisked off to another page telling me I am todays winner of an Ipad (pod whatever!!) if I fill in a survey. If I was going to win a new tank or filter I might just might take the time to fill in the survey as this is a site about fish and fish keeping. Now its only happening when I click on this site, this morning it happened when I looked at something in the classifieds section, come on guys this is not on

Is it not some kind of virus on you own pc/laptop

That's very strange. The site does have ads for non-members to see but if you are logged in there are none. Also, the ads that are there for non-members are just banners and not pop-ups.

I dont understand either, it only happens on this site. PC has been checked no virus etc, its just annoying.

How often has it happened? Do you notice anything about the events that seems to be a consistent trigger?

I was going to suggest to check you have scanned using an anti-malware application as well? Malwarebytes (free) is very good. what anti-virus are you using?

I've seen this happen before and it did turn out to be maleware in that case. Since we don't run that kind of ad here I'm not sure what the source might be on this site.

Next time it happens I will take more note and post the details for you, it happened once today and yesterday, once in the new world section and today I clicked on an ad in the classified section.

I would say its most likely a virus type thing, scanners regularly miss stuff, especially if it is newly created spyware etc.

I will second MalwareBytes as being an excellent product.

I get this very same pop up, but on my phone, and only in the morning, saying im the 1000th person to have signed in, I have won an ipad.
Doesnt happen on my computer though.... That would be pretty annoying
