Well I've finally decided against larger chiclids because of my plants. So what I want to know is if there are any fish compatible with Red-Fin sharks and red-tail sharks? I was thinking barbs but I've heard they get nippy. Any suggestions or ideas? My tank specifications are located in my signature.

Well I would get Rams if they are alright with those sharks? Is that possible? Would any other fish be alright with them?

Well i guess it depends on how big your tank is.....i have a red tailed shark and they go well with a few barbs......5 or 6. The shark tends to be a loner and leave things alone when theyre in larger groups. The barbs often get a little nippy but their aggression seems to be eased when in larger groups.

Bala sharks, Betta (Siamese Fighting), Bosemani Rainbow, Cherry Barb, Clown Loach, Dwarf Neon Rainbow, Flying Fox, GloFish, Iridescent Shark, Kissing Gourami, Kribensis, Otto Catfish, Pearl Gourami, Penguin Tetra, Pleco (Common), Rosy Barb, Sparkling Gourami, Tiger Barb, Tin Foil Barb, Three Spot Gourami, Zebra Danio, are a list of some compatible fish although usually these other fish are happiest when in larger groups just like the barbs.......it really again depends on ur tank size.

sorry i didnt see your tank specifications before......yeh i think a 55 gallon tank should be fine to keep a red tailed shark and a larger group of other fish

Alright thanks. I think I got my list of fish I'm planning on getting. Finally. :) I'll be cutting down on my threads now. lol

6 or more Tiger Barbs will get along very well with a red-tailed shark. Although Tiger barbs are less suited to a species tank, they very rarely harass fish when they're in groups. The only fish I wouldn't keep barbs with are Angelfish, fancy guppies, swordtails, lyretails and bettas. Gouramis are fine; in my experience Tiger Barbs quickly learn who's boss with no injuries on either side.
