AquaNut, missyintx_99, freshmike, smb,

Well I hope you enjoyed your chit-chat in my thread. Luckily I haven't got the email notification activated. But I have to admit I did get a little excited when I saw 60 replies to my question

Well never mind, so can anyone answer my question? :D

don't forget me I can't let them all get into trouble and knowing that I helped too.

well firstly with an eel you are going to have to cover all of the holes in your lids like around a hang on the back filter if you have one, think of it this way if you can see day light so can they and they will try to use it. I don't know if they would or wouldn't be alright, I would assume that they would be fine as they are shy and recluseive, but they also eat other fish,

It all depends on your discus Dave, spiney eels can be a bit manic and can throw a quiet sedate tank into chaos without warning, if your discus are able to tolerate that then it will be fine but its not something i would usually recomend.

BTW guys thanks for the funny thread, i was rolling up reading through it. But i have to tell ya, YOUR ALL SISSYS, when are you going to get yourself some REALLY aggressive fish like a wolffish or a snakehead  now theyre what you call fish

LOL, I can't argue with that. I would love to have a dovii someday. That and another tank with an umbi would be the best.

Sorry Dave. We did get carried away but I don't know anything about eels so couldn't reply to that. CFC is a the undisputed King of all that stuff.

Hey CFC, speaking of aggro and I guess "maybe" oddball to some, have you ever kept a bowfin before?

I believe that bowfins are illegal here in the UK as they are a coldwater fish and could colonise waterways if released (much the same as snakeheads in some US states), though i would love to get my hands one (ok wearing chainmail gloves lol).

BTW the wolf fish i was thinking of is Hoplias malabaricus, a truely evil large characin that likes to eat its prey a chunk at a time
Though if you want THE most aggressive fish in the world you would have to get a Mystus nemurus aka the Asian red tail catfish, a tankmate that can survive with one of these fish has yet to be found as they kill ANYTHING that comes within striking range.

Oh ok, I think know what wolffish you're talking about now. Those guys even LOOK scary! I have a pic of one of them on my pc at home. I'll start a thread in Oddball with it tonight and you can let me know if that's it. And if not then you can let me know what it is. It's the ugliest and meanest fish I've ever seen that doesn't live deep in the ocean.

Yea a red tail cat is a baddy but get wayyy too big for anything I'll ever have.

I had a bowfin once but just for a little while. He killed all my bluegill and smallmouth bass in 2 days so I had to get rid of him. I want to get another one tho.

The asian RTC dosent grow as big as its South american counterpart, about 3ft is its max but it is the fish from hell, i read post on another forum some time back that some guy had introduced a 12" ARTC into his tank with a huge peacock bass and a red snakehead and by morning the ARTC was the only one alive!

BTW if you want to see a REALLY scary fish go toplanet catfish and look at the pictures of the giant devil catfish, now thats a fish you would need a screw loose to want to keep!
