Quick Question.. How big are your Angels?
Um, about 2-3" across body size. Why?

I got my discus for £6 each, konrad05. Their more simple reqirements are a lot of space (you wouln't believe the size of my discus' parents! :S), warmer water, little movement from the filter but good filtration, little movement from other fish, other discus (can't keep just one) and very clean water.

silver, should the eggs be going white? There are still many there by the way and this is at least 2 days. I was tod they'd take 2/3 days to hatch, is this right?

I have another picture, taken just now. Don't worry about me taking pictures by the way people. I am sitting on the couch where I usually sit and am using the zoom, I also do not use the flash. :) I am trying to use it to compare how many eggs were there and white yesterday compared to today. When do they usually eat them? I keep expecting it to have happened. Do they eat the fry?

Here we go, yesterday...

and today...

Well, it does look like there's less of them unless it's the angle I shot at. There are more white ones too.

What do you reckon? :/

Doggfather, reiben, thanks very much for your nice comments.

The white eggs are unfertilized and should normally be removed by the parents?

Also if the male..Dint fertilize them..Then u must have Lesbian Fish....YES THEY DO EXIST.. :S

They lay the eggs...they watch overthem and then they just eat them...I dont think Its goo that a lot of the eggs are getting white...

Hey Cheese,

If you are not expecting them to hatch why do you move everything around?

maybe it would have been better to get some mesh and divide off that corner of the tank for them?

Just my 2p.

I moved the other fish so as to not stress the angels and so that the other fish do not get attacked. I thought that was obvious from the original post. :/

I'd love to see you trying to attach 'mesh' into a 2ft deep planted tank that is already 2ft off the ground (oh, and I'm 5' 3") when it's full of water and has some fish in it that you are trying to not stress.

Think about it.

Good luck with the eggs CS! Also, congratulations on the new discus! :D

How are the eggs doing now?? :hyper:

I TOTALLY understand why you moved the other fish.....them Angels can get MEEEAAAN when they spawn......they have no fear, none at all, and will jump up OUT of the water just to attack me.......sheesh.........

:D

edit...I didn't see that you asked ME that :*) SORRY, ya, some of the eggs will turn white and they may leave them, may not :dunno: The eggs she is puting on top of the white ones are probably, if not mistaken, ones that she is catching and spitting back up with the batch...........am I right?? She may move them to another spot too....it's sooooo cute to watch.....try to do it from a distance though.....something I have finally learned.

I have my Angel thread you can read if you want.........??? It could be very helpful to you right now....

The eggs up until hatching.....

After the eggs hatched.....

I asked because I'm growing out some angels in the hope of getting a pair, just curious.. :-(

What's with the :-( ? I was only asking why you wanted to know! I am nosy, :p.

silver, the eggs are looking weird, I can't describe it. :/ It's like they have swelled up and there's some on top of others. They keep falling off and Daisy keeps trying to put them back up but can't. There are much less white ones so I think they have gotten rid of those. I can't tell whether some are cracking or not from here and I'm not going to disturb them.

*just tried to look*

Er...I think they have hatched!!! :hyper: I looked at the reflection of them, rather than straight at them and they are moving and the profile looks like they have tails or something popping out.

I'll try get a pic, using the zoom.

I really need to learn what to do now!!! I didn't expect them to hatch! And not on their first go! :S

 :kana:  :* :drink: :hooray: :hey:

OK, I tried to get some pictures. I don't think they are very good, but it is difficult to get them. I think you can see the 'tails' in the pictures and how the eggs are not really on the tube properly and also that there is a large clump of eggs where it looks like some have been put on top of others...
