cold water pond tank???

Oh well I actually thought about taking mud from the lake and putting some rotting leaves in there for him to hide under but I don't think that would have worked out very well. If I am wrong please correct me. Your right about the pebbly stones i would have liked to have used them but I already had these so I used what i had on hand. It will look a little more natural when the plants come in I hope.

edit: what would you call it then just a cold water tank?

I think it is a great idea but I must agree very unnatural at the moment with the green/black rock I would say go with something more natural and also maybe get some aquarium safe silicon and silicon some of the substrate around the opening so that no tupperware is seen but the idea definetly has some potential I may try it on one of my tanks once I get rid of my mollies (or one day if I'm bored and feel like moving all the fishies out and doing it all in one day and moving fishies back in.) good start though can't wait to see it with plants and everything.

thanks. hmm i don't suppose the silicone will work inside of the water will it. No didn't think so. It would be a REAL pain to take all of that out and put it back. besides the newts often look through the clear tupperwear rather than sticking there heads out of the hole. also the clear parts make it much easier to see if there are any dead creatures in the caves. and it's nice to be able to watch them even when they are hiding

Yeah, silicone would work in water, you've just got to wait for it to dry!

anyway, whatever you decide to do, it still looks great and is a great idea!

Often used to keep mudskippers, terrapins, crabs, amphibians or archerfish.

plants have grown a bit and i added some elodea. Looks different so I thought I'd update.

enjoy. any comments or mistakes I have made please post. do you think it looks better with the plants? I like it better this way, but i'd like to hear what you guys think.
