Christmas Weather

Raining today and tomorrow...temps are too high for snow (luckily). We've only had about an inch of snow so far this month.

Some sunshine today, rain tomorrow and then snow

In tropical San Diego we have…wait…am I seeing that right…is that…snow? It’s sleet from Monday. Dropped down to 34 degrees where I am.

Started as rain this morning but its snowing now. I put up lots of lights. Lots of arduinos generating hopefully interesting patterns...
Yes, I had to do an internet search for "arduinos" ... even though this is a weather-related thread, I'd like to see some pics or video (better) of your setup :)

Going to have to bring in the plants next weekend...

The River Tees has frozen for the first time since we moved here 30 years ago.

I couldn't have frozen for the few few years after we moved as the river was tidal past where we live so salt water, but after the barrage was built it's become fresh water up to the barrage and can now freeze.

Lace up those ice skates!

Three of the children died at the scene and a 6 year old died in hospital a couple of days later. And the next day, teenagers were filmed locally messing around on a frozen lake. What can anyone do to get through to them?

We are getting huge slush flakes driving down and accumulating as grey puddles everywhere. The herd of deer out back are looking miserable, as the stuff soaks in and they don't have great shelter. They gather behind the building with the fishroom as it's a wind break, and there is a huge old white pine in close to catch the wet snow. The deer are not very wary as the summertime cruise ship tourists feed them at the nature park up the road, so the poor wet mammals tend to hang around as long as I'm inside the fishroom. They watch me through the window. They have figured out glass as a concept.
To them, I seem to be safely in a tank.
Today I think they would accept an invite in. I could get a few chairs, some carrots, and we could watch the Corys together. I wonder if my killies would eat ticks?

They're pests, they destroy my garden, they carry ticks, they poop everywhere out back, and they are almost shivering. This is some of the worst weather, to me. Let's just get cold and clean. I'll take 20 cm of good dry snow over this anytime.
