haha, very. like i said my hands were on the plug as soon as it was higher than the glass( the water forms a bubble before it overflows)

at least when it runs at its proper level it will be fine.

Got the tank maker to drill the other hole today . Took them about 5 mins. I bought the pipework from the same company so i will get on with it after the silicone has started to dry on the bulkhead.

my d&d refractometer is on order so hopefully will be adding salter water next weekend.

Where does everyone get the ro water cans from? almost forgot about getting the RO water lol

I got mine from Halford. 25l for about £10... I think.

had the offer from the lfs that they sell them for £12.50 each including free 25litre RO water. so might just go for that. or they lend them out.

I might be adding salted water very soon so have a few questions.

Can i put the ro water into the tank and then add the salt? surely the pumps/turnover will mix the salt?

If im able to set the salt up in the tank i might be getting the live rock this weeked.

does this LR look ok has been in the tank for 1-2 years?. LINK

rock looks fine to me, and putting raw salt and RO straight into the tank to mix is absolutley fine.

cheers. have just done the last 2 journeys for the ro.

total system size is 165 litres.

hard work lifting those 25 litres bottles 4ft up to pour into the tank! How does everyone else do it? there must be an easier way?

lol at least i shouldn't have to do it again.

morri, there's not enough space above the sump to get the bottle in!

the sumps doing the hard work on mixing the salt though. looks like its almost fully mixed now though just a few bits.
I worked out that i need to add 6.818 kg of salt to get the correct level. only put 4kg in at the moment as it looked like alot of salt to me. so will be adding the rest later.

Hopefully going to pick up the LR on the weekend from enfield so will have a look around the shops before. Whats the best way of transferring the LR? I was thinking about a couple of creates with lids but there probably not food grade?

Has anyone else looked at the LR? Just wondered how it looked to others as it don't look very pink to me.

Will only look pink if calciumhas been kept at the optimum level for coralline growth.

Looks fine though.

Moved mine in those plastic stackable boxes, just make sure the lid is on securely or you will get a wet boot!
