Changing water in Betta Tank

I'm about to change the water in my betta tank.
I have another tank set up by it's side with 1 gallon of the same
bottle water in the original tank plus 1 gallon from a new bottled
water container. Do I need to let the bettas adjust to the water
before releasing them or can I just transfer them?
