Can You Keep Angels And Discus Together

how big is your tank?

have you got any other fish?

I have never kept discus with angels but it certainly is possible and can make for a stunning display. You should get a group of no less than 5/6. Six discus is a good number to start out with.
400 liters or 88 gallons is a nice sized tank. what are the dimentions?

Cool cheers. Dimensions are 151x51x61cm

Whenever discus & angels are mixed the discus suffer, simply because they are less aggressive feeders, so they either slowly starve or suffer from poluted water from "overfeeding"

'slowly starve or suffer from poluted water from "overfeeding"'

While I see your point here I think the above words are much too strong. This would be the worst case scenerio and it could only happen if the fishkeeper didn't look after them properly. You would find ways to ensure the discus got enough food. The guy has only got one angel anyway. Discus cant compete? check this vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQvCttWASD0

Still keeping discus in their own tank is easiest and better on the discus particually when they are young and growing.

I keep & breed both....& have done for many years, the other way round is by far the exception

Well my water is always good quality and dont recall ever over feeding so figure might as well go for it.

I got five discus about one year a go from a pet shop and after a month 4 died and all the pet shop discus died as well they told me they was bad discus they got. But I still have one out of five that is still going strong to day. And it is with a razorback turtle.

Hmmm... Maybe that's why they all died. What's this even have to do with anything the OP is asking?

Angels and Discus shouldn't be a problem. I've done it in the past. Sometimes when they are full grown you will get the occasional nasty Angel who will have to be removed if he is doing damage.

Remember, you want to start out with good quality stock. Most LFS aren't the best place to get Discus. Adult Discus are more forgiving, requiring less frequent water changes and less feedings, and are especially good if your tank is gravel or planted. ALWAYS quarantine your fish. You should de-worm them during quarantine and some people even chose to fluke them also. This is even more important for Angels (just to be on the safe side.)

I did Angels with discus everytime with corys,Rams,Cherry Barbs,Clown Loaches,Royal Plec and Cardinals...even when the Angels where fully grown they never ate the Cardinals and never bothered the Discus....they do all shoal together to.

Is an absolutely rubbish statement, whether you breed or just keep angels or discus, its always worth having an open mind.

Discus arent always the less aggressive feeders, it just depends on how settled into the tank they are, mine are by far the more aggressive feeders and will boot the angels right out the way to get the food first.

If the discus are suffering from starvation then it is because the person feeding them isnt giving them enough or the right food.

If the discus are suffering because of poor water quality then it is because the person in charge of the tank isnt doing enough or big enough water changes, its an immature tank, they are over stocked and so on, not because they are keeping discus and angels in together...

That said, I keep both angels and discus together in my 340L tank, the discus are both larger and smaller than the angels, i have mixed sizes of both species, both discus and angels are starting to spawn (not with each other!!) and still there are no problems. They get one or two good sized water changes a week (have two large tetratec filters on the tank, one does 500L the other 250L or more i think) and they get fed Novobits when i get in from work then when they have all finnish a big pinch of these then they get a couple of cubes of either beefheart, bloodworm, mysis, krill or greenfood and then they pick at the novotabs dropped in for the clownloach.

The water quality is always spot on, the fish dont fight (one exception of a new discus which i am going to remove as it is actually female not male LOL and my small female thats ready to spawn doesnt like her).

So long as the water parameters are right for discus or as close as possible then discus would be fine in the tank. I wouldnt advise using tap water unless you are lucky enough to have ridiculously soft water like on the south coast or in some parts of wales... I personally use RO water with the Tropic Marin Pro Discus Remineraliser.
