I have been dosing Micro and Macro ferts now for nearly 2 months and I have yet to see any positive signs in growth.

55 gallon tank, pH around 8, Lights on for 8 hours a day, 1.6 WPG T8, no Co2 injection or addition of any kind.

3 times a week CSM+B
3 times a week KNO3 & KH2PO4

Here are the pictures I have taken. Please see if anyone can help me out here!

That is really odd...

What type of bulbs are you using? Like kelvin number....

edit: You going to that meeting tonight? I was planning to go, but I might not due to all the weather :S .

This is FHM... I am just under my girl friends account...lol

The bulbs are I believe are around 10,000K or so... I do not know off the top of my head as I am not at home to check.

Yeah the roads here are not good at all. What about tomorrow night? Are you going to go then?

Thanks for the reply!

This was my thought as well, but I really don't know?

Maybe someone else would have a few for thoughts as to what may be happening?

Thanks for the reply, WD!

CO2 defficiency, did you end up halfing the dosing in the end?

If they are old leaves then they are probably in emmersed form. Trim them off to promote new growth, Crypts & echinodorus don't start growing until they have developed a massive root system IME.

Thanks a lot for your reply!

Yes, I did cut the dosing in half about 3 weeks ago now. The plants seem to have *slowed* down in dieing, however they still remain doing so.

So, it is probably in my best interest to get a Co2 injection system running?

Thanks again!

EDIT: Do I trim the leaves off right where the stem attaches to the leaves?

trim the whole stem off at the base, if you just trim the leaf then the stem will rot.

You shouldn't really need a CO2 system, what water change schedule are you doing? On low teh tanks it is better to do a water change every 1-6months so the CO2 levels aren't fluctauting all the time.

Thanks for the responses!

Right now I am doing 50% weekly water changes.

And to tell you the truth, the plants have been getting worse ever since I have started doing the 50% water changes.

Should I also be dosing less trace and macro ferts then?

If I dose less, then surely the plants won't need a lot of Co2 to use the high amount of fertilizers I have added.

ok, I would stop the water changes then, and do 50% every 1-6month, whatever you feel comfortable with. And dose half EI, once a week.
Hopefully this should sort things out.

Okay, wow... lol...let me try to get this straight.

So instead of dosing 3 times a week CSM+B and 3 times a week KNO3 & KH2PO4, I should only dose CSM+B once a week, and KNO3, KH2PO4 once a week?

Thanks again, and I hope this works!
