I share your reaction.
Can you even define what PK's reaction is or how it was intended? Stop sniping at me son. I don't know what your issues are and I don't care.

Trolling becomes you not.
What on earth man? I am genuinely confused.
I keep my filters and fans on because I’m used to them, and if I turn them off or don’t have them on, then I have trouble sleeping...
I also like white noise - fish filters are perfect for it.
It's all about proper pitch and amplitude, PK. It's great to be part of an elite few. Conversely, my wife freaks at most sustained noise. Go figure!
It's those pesky moving parts?.My question is this: Why do we have noisy filters?
Companies being cheap: not putting the time into it that is necessary to make it perfect. My question is this: Why do we have noisy filters?
I have heard that as well, except I saw 8 hours. Who knows?I'm sure I've read that when you turn a filter on that has been off for 12 hours it releases toxins into the water column. Although, I could be lying. Who knows?
Maybe you're right and I got the hours confused with something else. I'll remember it as 8 hours now to be safe lolI have heard that as well, except I saw 8 hours. Who knows?
Yep, that’s my problem with my Aqua clears. The main drawback to hang on back (HOB) style filters is the water level in them drops to the same level as the tank when the power goes off. This could leave the filter dry overnight and that would kill the filter bacteria and cause the tank to cycle.
