Thanks guys and the spawning seemed to turn into a violent fight between them both, the male started tearing her fins and chasing her
They've stopped now and seem to be staying together in a cave but Im not sure if they did spawn.

He looks good mate. I've never had convicts so I'm no expert, I just had hrp and jade eyeds.

It is one seriously odd looking female for sure, i'd agree it was a hybrid of some sort! Not pretty at all IMO lol but cichlids usually make up for it in personality. To be fair i have seen some butt ugly pure bred cichlids too lol.

Nothing more hideous than a parrot... (IMO of course!) will be interested to see babies anyway lol

LOL! Im not to fond of it either, I was hoping my male con would pair with the other black one.
I really dont know what he see's in her.
I hope the fry turns out better looking than the mother.
