My fish has been having weird growth on his body and I’m wondering if it’s a fungal infection but i’m not sure... I’ve been doing a lot of water changes recently in hopes that it’ll clear up but no luck yet. His eye looks super cloudy as well. I tested the water for ammonia and everything appears to be okay. A guy at the pet store told me to use the API fin and body cure and i’ve already done two treatments but nothing has changed. Anything help would be great!!

The weird spot is at the start of his fin. Looks like a red lump to be specific ?
A cloudy eye is typical of a bacterial infection and such an infection can be caused if it has physically bumped its eye or the waste in the aquarium and filter is high.

If I were you I would clean your filter media in dechlorinated aquarium water; try to dunk the media in tank water to remove the poo rather than aiming to do a thorough clean as you don't want to remove the beneficial bacteria from them. Follow this up with a water change; try to remove any waste from the substrate too.

I would then treat the aquarium with Waterlife Myxazin. I have found this to be highly effective at clearing up bacterial infections.

Thank you!!! Should I just stop using the API fin and body cure and switch the medication?

Personally yes i would. Do a 50% water change and get and use Myxazin. It’s a very effective treatment for all manner of bacterial infections. Ive used it to treat internal bacterial infections, cloudy eye and body and fin rot effectively.

You dose it daily for 5 days according to the instructions. Be sure to remove your activated carbon and turn the UV light off while using the treatment.
