I too use a lot of exclamation points... hehe! I would see if you can trade your regular pleco for a clown pleco or some other SMALL pleco. I have on in my 20-gallon sorority and he's just great. They stay small. I couldn't find the exact, but I think it's only between 3-4". If you saw my recent post about my 20-gallon, you'll see that plecos get HUGE. Usually when they get too big you can trade them for a smaller one, but I wouldn't let it get that far. He's still pretty small now, though.

And I'm glad Mr. Betta has his own bowl now. He'll be MUCH happier. Hope be builds you a bubblenest soon!!

That looks like a 10 gallon to me. What are the measurements?
I may be wrong, but I think I read that you need min. 10 gallon per goldfish.
I agree goldfish like 70 tops, and Bettas need high 70's to 80.

I think the biggest problem, is that people always see tons of fish per tank, at petstores, so they think that is how they should be kept. Go to any petstore, and look at the mollies, and goldfish for example. Most people don't do any research, before bringing a fish home, and most petstores don't question any pet purchase.

I think petstores need to be responsible for educating people on how to properly care for the animals they sell. Maybe many of the people here with overstocked tanks, would have thought twice, or not purchased some of those fish, had they been educated BEFORE they got the fish home.

Before anyone gets upset: This isn't directed at anyone. Just a reaction to all the tank stocking questions lately.

I've read that fancy goldfish (like moors) can tolerate higher temperatures very well, but when keeping goldfish and tropicals together, even if you keep them at a "happy medium" neither are going to be at their best :)
