Building a large tank.

i dont really think thats a good idea with the thing in the center... why dont you do what most people do and get one of those wooden stand thingy's and put the filter in the stand... just a suggestion

doing something new may lead into a diaster or may revolutionize the fish world good luckand have fun

I was thinking of that. but if i did that then i would have to change the whole tank around..

I am thinking of another type of filter as the pump is goign to loads per hour. but i am getting the fish club i have just joined to go through the idea.

but. i do like the idea i have made and i think i will go with that.

 That is one seriously innovative piece of kit.......your second pump 2000l/h would run my marine tank on its own.....WOW thats going to be one damn fine setup..cant wait to see the end product good luck

btw are you taking orders yet?? :D :D :D

Well for the last two weeks i have been scouring the internet for free glass.
Tonight i picked up the first two pieces.
and i sc`rewed up... :D  :D . iwent to pick it up on my own.... 210 x 133 at 10mm thick.

ik denk dat ik wil i thought ya i can pick that up. ha. i could pick it up, but walk with it..... well its home now. i just need to get it out of the trailer. i will get three guys from work to help me.

then i need to cut it and glue it.

plans have all changed as it is going to be metal and glass. no wood or fiber glass. and i am changing the filter into a gravity run bio filter. saves loads of money....

i will start to take pictures soon.

yeah, don't forget the pics, we want pics! :fun: .

sounds good so far. will look stunning when finished.

ste :)

Looks like a pretty good design.

If there's one "weak spot", it may be the heating. If you're pumping 2000-4000 L/hr past the heaters, I'm not sure if there will be enough "dwell time" in the heater area for the water to get heated significantly. That is, it may take a very long time to raise the temperature of the water significantly.

Or not.

I've done some work with air-based heat exchangers, and dwell time there makes a huge difference.

Ya im going to have to go back and redesign the pictures as it has now all changes on the heating and filter side of things.

But the good thing is that a larger aqarium 10000ltr tank will tanke the heating system from me.

ok so here are the first pictures

here is the glas i will be using.

The glass is 10mm thick. but i will be glueing 2x 10mm to give it total strength.
