I have 5 Panda corys in a tank which I have recently been treating for white spot and fungus. Because of the meds and the high temperatures recently, I've increased the aeration by putting in a diffusion stone.

The Pandas (thankfully unaffected by meds or whitespot :good: - at least up to now) are completely obsessed with the bubbles. They swim in at the bottom and get rushed up to the surface with the bubbles - fins akimbo! They then swim down and start again.

They only stop at feeding time - or if I go round and peer through the glass at them - when they sit quietly on the sand looking innocent.

Are they just playing - or is it an unhealthy addiction? :S

my peppered corys do this too, although not all the time!
they seem to really enjoy it and its fun to watch, these are my favourite fish! x x

A lot of fish (not just corys) love playing in bubbles ;)

here's on of my (ex) Golden Ram - caught i the act :hyper:

probably nothing you could really do to discourage i anyhow, besides take out the bar. Anyway, if i were a fish i'd do it. have you ever stuck your hand in the spray? it feels pretty cool, actually, kinda tickles a bit. It's probably like a hot tub crossed with some crazy water park ride to them -lol-

I have a add-in to Firefox, which "borks" text and images in web pages to look like how the swedish chef would say it., i just had to share this first post with you, im still laughin:

That's pretty funny! It's a shame we don't all have to talk that way!
As for the fish, I think it's great to see them enjoy bubbles! Since we are keeping them in a small container (compared to the outside world) at least they are enjoying themselves some how. My blue rams love the bubbles as in they won't let any other fish play in them, and my male cherry barb and one of the otos loves the current... they swim against it until they get to the top, then they just let it bring them back down to start again.
Fish are so silly!

I would keep it in because it's fun to watch them play. I would only take it out if planned on havig plants because it decreases the amount of CO2 in the water.
:D

The only unhealthy mental states our fish get are due to our keeping them in too crapt a space and not giving them enought room to play, if anything the riding of the bubble stream is a healthy thing for your fish and you should probably keep it in the tank.

This is an extremely dangerous thing for your fish to be doing, while it seems fun for you and them, the air bubbles have a small but very real chance of slipping thorugh the scales and epidermis of the fish and entering the blood stream, which is always fatal. I would recomend removing the bubble device immediately.

LOL J/k

This sounds very fun to watch. I might add one of these to my tank just to see this.

HAHAHAHA you had me scared for a sec! i was thinking .... is this person serious..... how come i've never heard this before??? ......
