I added my new 3 days old babies to the fry tank today.
Wow, I'm really impressed with your photography skills! Been debating whether to get a digital SLR for a few months now...I think seeing your shots is going to cost me some money :D

What camera have you got, by the way?

Yet again, amazing pics snowflake, thanks for sharing :good:

You wanna pop over to mine to take some pics :fun:

Thanks guys. I love taking photos of my fish it's a challenge.I have always been into photography. Yes the digital slr helps.

I have an Olympus E-410. I want to get a few differant lenses, but this one works well. I love this camera I got It refurbished off amazon with lense for $320 a year ago. I love it I have always had the old 35mm SLR and making the switch was easy and fun. Olympus makes a great camera.

Oh yeah and I do touch up the contrast and gramm when I crop them. Is that cheating. Another reason why digital is so good.

Thanks for the info. I don't consider the contrast and gamma tweaks to be cheating at all - with digital that's all part of getting the final image to appear how you want it to and you're clearly a good judge of what tweaks need to be made. You can make similar tweaks with film, but that option isn't as accessible as it is for digital. Like you, I've had 35mm film SLR's and a couple of medium format cameras, but have never had anything more than a compact in the digital world....but I think that's going to change shortly :D

Yes! do it. You will be happy with a D SLR for sure. There is just so much you can do and play with it's fun. I think it is worth it. I waited a long time for mine. I got this camera mainly to get good photos of my daughter. I use it Just as much for my fish .

So my largest fry are about 2cm they are almost 4 weeks old. I'm thinking of moving them to the parent tank because I want to lessen the bio load in my fry tank.

Will these fry get enough food if I put them in with the parents? Should I put a wafer is to get them use to eatting that? I might just do 2 wc a day on the fry tank for now.

Or will they be ok is the Cory tank?

I would if you can, leave them in the fry tank,at least while you're doing w/c's this promotes their growth, plus being with the adults, they might not get their full quota of food.

Yeah I will keep then in a little longer. Thanks. I wish I had a another tank but not really 4 is plenty for me.

Well out of all the fry I have one that is doing awesome he is in with the parents and looking great. I put 4 other good size fry a little over a month old in. I only see my one fry out. I do have a good size chunk of wood covered in thick java moss. I'm thinking they might be hiding in that?? Every time I do some cleaning and move something I find a tiny fry so I try not to move any thing.

Do you think the Cory fry are hiding or what? I have not found any bodies.

Im unsure hon, could they fit in anyone elses mouth? Hopefully someone that know abit more will be able to give help soon

Hopefully they're hiding and won't get eaten, :good:
if they do get eaten or die there might not be much left of their small bodies anyway.

The one it doing great growing and his color looks great like a mini one of his parents. Still no sign of the others. :( they were too big to fit in the other corys mouth. Maybe they died from stress of the move? I need to do a wc so I will pock around more and search for them. I saw another panda egg they spawn like crazy. I'm happy I got one fry doing well. I have a few more in the fry tank. But I lost a lot due to I did not switch to a larger filter sooner.

Sorry to hear you lost some fry.

Hopefully you'll find the others in hiding, when you do your w/c

Good luck :good:

Well I have 2 bronze fry that are doing great they are with the parents and are feeding well and growing they seem happy. Then I had a few accidents. I sucked up 2 larger cory fry and they broke their backs hitting the tube hard on the way up that was very upsetting. I lost a lot of fry but it's because I did not put the large filter on the tank till it was late. I also slacked on the WC because I went back to work. raising a 14 month and cory fry while working was too much.

But here are my 2 fry that did make it. I'm proud of them.

My biggest
