I have recently bought a small bristlenose(about 2cm) and am wondering will he need any food to supplement his diet of algae.

Thanks. Any further keeping tips would be great.

That's tiny! How cute.

I feed my BN plec a combination of algae wafers to supplement tank algae and she gets a slice of cucumber or zucchini as well. She'll also on occasion steal some shrimp pellet from the cories and wait for it to dissolve in her mouth.

As for keeping them, it's best if you have some driftwood or bogwood in your tank as it helps their digestion. They'll go along and suck on it like they do the glass. They also like a cave to hide in, I made one just out of a couple of bits of driftwood and Finbot loves it. Also, they are poo MACHINES. I upped my gravel vac'ing to a few times a week, it's amazing how one small creature can create so much waste :sly:

Mine loves his courgette, is crackers about his bogwood too. I also feed him the spirulina wafers and pellets from this link:

Both De Niro and the BN are mad about those wafers and pellets - much more so than for other brands we've used. Even the other fish like them :)
