My setup is in my signature.
Tank: 40cm x 40cm x 40cm

Can I get a BN? If not, are there any smaller ALGAE EATING plecos I could get?

Otherwise i'll go with 3 otos.

Thanks.

Well they only reach 5/6" max, so I see no problems with you having one in that tank. Make sure he/she has some bogwood, get in some algae tablets because it will get thru any algae you already have in the tank pretty quick, also they like cucumber, courgette, sweet potato and other veggies to eat, along with bloodworms is another fav.

rule of thumb is the tank has to be 4x width 2x the depth of the fish. so using this a bn when fully grown are 5-6" (125-150mm) so it will need 600 X 300mm or 60 x 30 cm ideally

hurrm it may be ok it depends on your tank layout and stocking tbh

The stocking is in my signature, and the layout is my avatar. I guess I'd be getting some bogwood as well though if I got a BN.

you should be ok, bogwood is a must for bn's. thay also Need a cave of some sort

I got a bristlenose pleco today, it's only an inch long.
Also got some bog wood which i'm soaking now.

Get the bogwood in now, the Bristlenose will like the tannins
