It's like a giant landfill site here, only without the seagulls! I don't think anyone knows what a bin is for

Just chatted to my girlfriend, and all is looking good back home

Eggs hatched now, a really big number! Biggest batch by far. My man fish must have been serving some seriously strong love yogurt to his lady

...... Good work fella.

I don't think I will have any videos until I get back home, unless the girlfriend can manage to take some, but I don't want to push my luck as I am pestering her for updates by the hour already!

They should go free swimming tomorrow, or Saturday at the latest. Just now the parents are having a nightmare keeping control of them and my girlfriend said that the fry are all over the place
laugh.gif
So looks like extra lively wrigglers!

My newly crawling/standing up baby is nothing to those wrigglies. Round 'em up, you sissy Discus. Seriously. They are contained in a tank.

Edit: I may have meant : Those wrigglies are nothing to my crazy baby, but I'm too exhausted from chasing the chunker everywhere today.

I knew exactly what you meant. Maybe you could buy a giant tank and just watch your baby crawl around inside? Sprinkle some food in every now and then!

   A 200 Gallon tank with Cheerios all over? Substrate : Sprinkled cereals Fertilizer : Various berries and grains Water chemistry : Juices and flavored waters

Fish are hard enough!! Let the kiddies fend for themselves.

Keep us posted. lol

OK, so here is the latest update. My girlfriend decided she wanted to remove the guard from the wrigglers before they became free swimming. I asked her not to, but she likes to fiddle!
huh.gif

Anyway, the parents then started moving the fry around, and to be honest there is nowhere to move them to in the tank so it all went a bit pear shaped, with fry everywhere. Ended with the parents getting frustrated and eating the fry!

This all happened Friday, but behold, more eggs laid today. My girlfriend treated the eggs with Formalin, as I had showed her before, and placed the guard on. So all good again. I will be back Wednesday, by which point they should have hatched and I can keep a close eye on them.

Here we go again.........

The fish are trying hard too. So between us we will make it in the end. What I can say is that it is not easy, and requires a fair chunk of good luck. Here's hoping
