Hey guys i have a five gallon divided tank with 3 bettas in it. I'm planning on adding small live plant(s) for each betta. I just wanted to know if there was a way to keep one small bottom cleaner in each division, and if it was possible what kind of bottom cleaner? Sorry if the question is dumb, but the only other time i had a tank with bottom cleaners I was 6. :/

SORRY I THOUGHT I WAS IN THE BETTA AND GOURAMI SECTION!! lol Its not an emergency i havent bought anything yet lol. SORRY GUYS!!!

Hi FrEaKiNhippie13 :)

No problem, I'll just move your thread over to there. :D

If you are thinking about putting cory cats into the divided sections of a betta tank, I don't think it's a very good idea. They are schooling fish and love to swim and play together. They make a lot of physical contact and I think it would break their little hearts to know that there were others of their kind nearby, but that there was a wall between them.

you could consider things other than fish ... like snails and ghost shrimp

ghost shrimp also make things interesting. i have a planted tank and from time to time bet my friends they wont be able to find all the ghost shrimp in the tank :D

Ghost shrimp is the way to go. It is funny to watch my betta investigate what it is.

About ghost shrimp- I think some people have had trouble with their bettas killing them? Mebbe an apple snail or something would be better.

they eat apple snail eyes. y not get like 3 cat fish for each divider. or u can get female bettas , they live together but i read somewere 4 is the # u should get so their all nice to eachother.

Ghost shrimp is a good idea, if you betta doesn't want to eat them. And if he does, well. Then he'll be one happy betta. Apple snails also get eaten from time to time. Putting three of the corydoras for each divider in a five gallon tank divided three ways is a bit... packed, don't you think?

No i wasnt planning on putting cory doras because i know they school, thank you all so much for the ideas!! :D

I was going to ask that today but when I logged on this thread was already here!
 I have an identical tank to that of FrEaKiNhippie13
Thanks for the help!

LOL Yea I keep wanting to add more to the tank but its just too small, and all my bettas ate their ghost shrimp lol.. :p

lol .... hey, atleast you didn't spend alot of money

i dont acctually know the scientific names of snails, but what about that small triangular black one? almost looks like an icecream cone, but is about a qaurter of an inch long

my bettas ate ghost shrimp, and killed a giant mystery snail (some people had better luck with the shrimp so i thought of bringing it up), but the small snails blend in with the gravel, might that work?

EDIT: i mean to say, the snails that i have almost look like gravel so the bettas tend to ignore them

The black shelled snail would match because im gonna change my gravel to black so my bettas colors would stick out more. I got tired of the mint green gravel i had, it makes the tank look dirty. Ill probably also get ghost shrimp but bigger ones so its a lil harder for them to eat lol. :p

I acctually bought the ghost shrimp for him to eat. He just turned up his nose at it. I think he just wants to play. Plus at 30 cents the shrimp wasn't a waste of money. :flex:
