lol welcome back CM it is good to see my mentor is popping his head in every now and then bit surprised though that you didn't touch on the gold oscars not being a hybird...

Hey Juan,

I try to drop in from time to time.

Not a whole lot of time after getting the fish business back up and running.

As for the gold oscars they are not hybrids! It is a true color form.

The only bad thing about them is they do not attain their gold coloration until maturity.

I would have to whole heartedly disagree.

3 Oscars @ 5 inches each... is 15 inches of fish... 125 Gal isn't enough for 15 inches of Oscar

Add the 5 - 6 inch Pacu and you come up with a whopping 45 inches of fish... I would say this is full... but not over stocked... Also the tank is set up with enough cover so that each fish can hide without impeding on one another...

Sure we can understand that these fish aren't done growing... not by a long shot... and I’m not done providing space either. Note the 550 Gal pond under construction mentioned in the signature.

But thanks for your concern!!

PS - Im working on a home for 3 of the Pacu... but until I'm sure they'll be safe and well taken care of I'd rather keep them (another pond maybe? but honey... it's for the fish, not me!)

Definitely not overstocked IMO. Plus, you seem to know what you're doing .

Those Pacu...man, I wish I could have some, I would ride them when they grew to the full size.

danny boy why cant you have pacus is it a lack of space or like a state regulation? just curious
