Ehhhh...you sure you don't want to go the long grabby plastic/metal tools type rout instead? As someone who has also kept tarantulas and large-ish cranky crustaceans, I'm not a big believer in the protection most gloves offer unless they're taken off a suit of armor. You have to factor in what happens if the animal gets a good hold and has a bit of time to chew on the material while you're flailing your arm around trying to get it off. Sometimes there's not a lot of warning either leading up to one of those events.

Hopefully this won't be spurring a long debate, but I feel I should add that captive-bred animals don't just spring out of thin air. Wild collection has to happen at some point unless a species is going to be completely ruled out of the hobby from the very start. I don't agree with collecting an animal unprepared (as with others, I worry a bit about that in this case), but the work has to start somewhere.
