how do they know what the other persons fish is like?
ive got parrots and not 1 is dyed.....they all have tails.....they all swim proper.....they feed a lot better than most of my other fish and they dont have any deformitites
i think ppl should be able to speak their own mind.....and have their own opinions....but to come on and say all that without knowin the full story can be quite intimidating i think
First, its not the parrots we are discussing. Its whats done to them. You probably have have un altered parrots, which no one is disputing.
Blood parrots are dyed red. Blood parrots are ALWAYS dyed red.
Second, no one is saying all parrots are dyed dyed, don't have tails, don't eat proper and so on. What we are saying, is by purshasing dyed fish, or any other altered fish, you are supporting an industry that thrives on animal cruelty. You might not agree with it, you might not know it, or you are trying to "save" the fish. But in the end, you are only hurting other helpess fish by saving those one or two at your lfs. When you buy the fish, doesn't matter if its to save the fish or to roast it over an open flame and feed it to your dog, as along as you pay for the fish they dont care. They will buy more, to make more.
FACT
The majority of the damage has already been done to the fish by the time it is at the LFS.
FACT
The only real way to save the fish, is to demand that your LFS stop selling altered fish and boycott shops that do sell them. Eventually, if enough people do there will be no demand for them and people will stop harming helpless creatures.
