Blood Parrot With Anal Sack Or Something

Hy all,

let me start by saying that my water stats are fine I have checked them.

the problem is one of my parrots has a protrusion from her anal cavity.

She is eating well and very lively but this sack is worying me a bit,

I am hoping you will be able to shed some light on the subject for me.

It kinda looks like her insides have some out like she's had a prolapse.

How long have you had her for and for how long has he had this protrusion?

ive had her about 2 1/2 years now in 180 ltr corner tank the protrusion has been there 3 days now and has grown daily.

I think it is a prolapse, i dont think there is actually anything you can do about this other than hope it reverses itself and make sure she doesnt scrape it up against anything and make it bleed.

Prolapse can be caused by overfeeding so maybe dont feed her so much over the next few days and see how she goes?

I know its been a while but I thought I would let you know that I cut down the amount of food and the prolapse witch I think you were correct in diagnosing reversed over the last couple of months and she had her first set of eggs since she became poorly !! all is back to normal ! thought I would share in case anyone else encounters this.
She couldnt pass anything for over a month its a miracle she never got an infection but through managing there diet properly (I think I was over feeding them) it has reseeded and she is back to laying eggs again
