Betta Spawning.

I just got away with watching for a bit. Teelie was picking up eggs that had dropped down. He's being very gentle about it all still, like only a little squeeze and deal with them first then go again. But she's being very patient with him. He's prooving to be rather strong. He's keeping them right at the surface for all this. Not letting either of them drop down in the water at all! :flex:

Well amazingly they're still at it in there and have turned lights off in all the local area of their tank for the night now. If only the human equivalent could.....actually I'm saying nothing more. :p

Congratulations! I just finished reading your thread. Good luck on the betta breeding. I had fun when my pumilus bred.

I hope they've finished by now! Hmmm that was one long session for them I dread to think how many eggs you have! I think mine went at it for well over five hours caught them at 8.30 they'd finished by 2.30 (not sure exact time they finished) :D

I'm really excited for you! Cant wait to hear more news

Went down this morning and Teelie was on the opposite end of the tank so I've taken her out and put her back home. He's making patrols of the whole tank every now and then and tending to the nest constantly so it all looks promising. :D
Teelie looks kinda flatter around the sides now, bless her, but otherwise in very good health. Yes it really was a long session for them. I think more due to their inexperience. He wasn't very good with the wrapping and got worried when they started to drop in the water. So it was done slowly. So saying she did look to have alot of eggs. And they were bigger then I expected them to be! I'm leaving him to his own devices as much as pos now and just having a peek every now and then. Just a case of patience now and hoping for the best. :look:

I'm sure it will go fine for you! When i watched my bettas spawn for the first time it took about 20 wraps before any eggs started to come out and then the next few only had about 5 eggs fall out but they eventually multiplied and she was releasing 20 eggs each wrap!

Yeah the eggs are larger than what you expect! Hope you get to see them hatch

Awww bless you all. Sadly things have gone pear shaped here. My son has been called in for his brain surgery. I leave early tomorrow morning with no idea when I'll be getting back. Have left instructions for my Dad but I fear for them. :-(
Mystery is being a star with the nest and the eggs. I only hope all goes well and we can come home Monday.
Am scared for my son and what he has to go through. We were only phoned this morning. :(
My daughter is staying home with my Dad but right now everything is in the hands of the Gods and Goddesses out there. I shan't be online until I return home either now.
Hope to see y'all soon. :)

P.

I'm sure your babies will be fine with their dad looking after them after all if he's doing a good job now I'm sure he'll continue to do a good job!

Good luck and best wishes for your sons surgery! Hope things go well with your son and that he comes home soon! :flowers:

What a scarey time for you. Lots of love and thoughts go through to you and your son for his surgery.

Don't worry about the bettas. Daddy will do an awesome job of looking after them and so long as you have some live plants in the tank they will pick of the unfusoria for a couple of days.

Good luck again
