Since my male orange plakat has failed miserably at breeding (egg eater!) I think I want to try this male with my orange female and see what I come up with

Wow, have you been feeding him a lot? His tummy looks a bit big. My betta looks just like him, except minus the crown. Nice fish, by the way.

His tummy DOES look a little plump ,that could be because I had to feed him to get him to flare up like that but I think it's mostly his side "flipper fin" that you see

Wuvmybetta: good looking fish and I can't believe I found a little fish store the other day in Houston that sells crown tailed Bettas for $3.49. I went out today and bought a 2 gallon tank and can't wait to get it ready for a crown tail. I just need to figure out what color?

congrats! Make sure you post pics! On one hand I'm jealous and wish that my lfs stocked them but then on the other hand....I'm glad they don't ,I'd be doomed!!!
