betta has redish lump, wont eat, plz help

I just thought I'd update you that my betta, fishrodamas, passed on Friday. I had just got home from having his water tested and they told me that the levels including ammonia were all perfect. He waited to pass until I got home so he could say goodbye to me. He was kind of laying at the bottom, he started flopping a bit almost like he was out of the water. I thought he was maybe trying to get to the top to get air but couldnt make it so I tried to coax him to the top with my hands but then he darted around faster than I had ever seen him move and came up to the side of the tank at the bottom and pressed his big eye against the glass to look at me and then he waved goodbye to me and moved on to something better.
I know it sounds weird, but when he was healthy he would always get as close to me as he could and wave to me with his fins. I really think he knew he was leaving us and was waiving goodbye. He was real sick and I think it was better that he went when he did. He was the first and the last fish that I will own. I've never had a pet pass away before and I never thought I would be so emotional for the loss of a fish. I didnt even know that fish ever had any personality at all. He taught me a lot. My girlfriend and me are going to get matching tattoos in his memory. Any suggestions what to do with his body now? I dont want to bury it cuz its a rental house and it doesnt seem right...I froze it for now so it wouldnt start decaying but I have no idea what to do with the remains...Thank you for all your help. I just dont think there was too much more that could have been done. Has anyone else seen a fish pass away like that? flopping about and then zipping around?

goodbye fishro, I'll remember you and love you always. :byebye:

Really sorry you lost him and it sounds like he did have a tumour pressing on his swim bladder.
As for disposal then i dont really know what to suggest.
Maybe put him in a small container and take a trowel and bury him somewhere you walk in a woods or something? All the fish i lost i wrap and put in the bin but you really loved the little guy so i dont know... thats so sad. :-(

Sorry,R.I.P. i put mine in some tissue paper and a little carboard box and bury them in the garden.

I guess I'll probly bury him too. You guys have been real helpful, thnx for the assistance. I really have a different view of fish now. maybe I'll post a pic of my fishrodamas tattoo when I get it done ;-)

take care....
