making this post for someone who doesn't have a fish forums account and who needs some more opinions on their fish. pics are included.
Tank:
What is the water volume of the tank?\
-5 Gallons
How long has the tank been running?
-since October 27th
Does it have a filter?
-Yes, sponge filter ordered from AngelsPlus
Does it have a heater? -Yes
What is the water temperature? -currently 79-80.5
What is the entire stocking of this tank? (Please list all fish and inverts.) -My betta boy and a unidentified baby snail (hitchhiked on filter)
Maintenance How often do you change the water?
-Once a week, every Wednesday
How much of the water do you change? -was 25%, after fin rot identification switched to 50% What do you use to treat your water?
-Seachem prime dechlorinator and bottled bacteria.
Do you vacuum the substrate or just the water?
-Gravel and snail feces get vacuumed.

Did you cycle your tank before adding fish?
What do you use to test the water?
What are your parameters? We need to know the exact numbers, not just “fine” or “safe”.

-Due to the course of treatment for his finrot, i havent been able to get acurate permaiters with a liquid test kit as the medication contained Victoria Green dye, will get test strips and post ASAP

How often do you feed your fish?
-Everyday once a day in the morning
How much do you feed your fish?
-4-5 pellets
What brand of food do you feed your fish?
-TopFins Betta bits, color enhancing
Do you feed frozen or freeze-dried foods?
-No
Illness & Symptoms
How long have you had this fish?
-Since August 8th 2019.
How long ago did you first notice these symptoms?
-after his finrot treatment, the odd colored section i have seen in pictures since July 29th 2020
In a few words, can you explain the symptoms?
-Lethargic and a weird color change at base of tail and end of body.
Have you started any treatment for the illness?
-hes completed his finrot treatment and has no signs of further regression with comparison to daily pictures
Was your fish physically ill or injured upon purchase?
-other than slightly clamped fins, no.
How has its behavior and appearance changed, if at all?
-he has gotten a white patch at base of tail and body that is for sure not finrot, and unlikely comimarus as its not fuzzy, but appears to be a decoloration/color change. He has a strong appitite and has only recently in the last three days (today is 12/12/2020) gotten lethergic since completing his finrot treatment after being super active swimming up and down (though not glass surfing) and saying hi. he now sits at the top back of the tank/in corners almost all day but still eats once i temporarily shut off his pump during feeding time, which goes back on right after. He will occasionally will swim around, then go back to the top of the tank in a corner/edge. Weird white patch has not spread at all since seeing it.
