Check it out! Last night, my test results read ammonia 1, nitrIte 1, and nitrAte 5. We're trucking along now, I suppose. I have another tank whose readings went 0, 0, 0 (which is weird; where is nitrate?) but we've added another dose of ammonia to see if it was just a wrong reading.

I have heard before that of the chart nitrates can give you a false reading! Good to hear though! Perhaps a water change to bring nitrates down then see what u get! Good luck!

I'm about to test the two tanks now, so hopefully we shall see some results. I'll let you know shortly.

I just retested my tank. I've got an increase in nitrite and nitrate which is good. Then in the other tank I'm cycling, the nitrate is still reading zero. :\

Oh thanks! I'm hoping it won't be too long before I have more things to show you guys. I'm very anxious for plants! Tomorrow I think I am going to lay out the wood on the floor to get an idea of how I want to place the pieces in the tank.

Ah, thanks! They should be here in about ten days! Once I have paid for them, I'll only have about 48 hours to finish my scape!

The boy and I are going plant shopping this weekend! This is my rough list so far:
Amazon sword (probably four of them)
Anubias nana, congensis, etc.
Java ferns
Java moss
Perhaps a few crypts

Any other suggestions? I know I'll also be getting another smaller piece of driftwood but its for my ten gallon as I'm trying to redo that tank.

I'm definitely going to look at some vallis. It all depends on the type my LFS has. Some days are better than others.

Boyfriend and I didn't get to go plant shopping yesterday, buuut I'm going today! I've paid for my girls! They should be here tomorrow or Wednesday, depending on if my breeder can still ship them out today. My cycle isn't totally complete yet, but I'll finish cycling fish-in with daily water changes. My breeder just needed the girls out.
