i think betas are one of the coolest fish out there and i'd love to start a tank with a bunch of those! but from what i've heard they can be rather tricky at time and quite agressive, is there anything special i need to know before starting this? and recmondations? and also, this may sound retarded but, i have an agressive comunity tank already consisting of an oscar, an irodescent shark, and a chichlid, and a couple of golden loaches (but they do seem to be bothered, they just suck up food!) is it safe for a beta? i'm thinking not but i know nothing about them. all my agressives are just small now...

No no no and no....Never ever ever....

Betta's and other aggresive fish is a death wish.

Keep ONE betta in ANY tank...Males that is. Girls you can put together, but NEVER have males together.

You can put minnows, cories, snails.....Little non aggresive fish with betta's.

But DON'T put them with the oscars!!! Betta's are food for them things!

yeah exactly what i thought. thanks! i don't think i would have tried any way. just to big of a risk! so what's the deal on mating betas? it would be awesome to get some fry if i ever pull thruogh with this beta tank.

Hehe. Theres so much about breeding betta's I don't know where to start.

My boyfriend tried unseccesfully once.

We need more expirience. :/

But If you want a shot at it, look up 'betta breeding tips' on google, or check out some of the pinned topics.

Betta breeding is a looooooot of work, that's all I'll say. It's best to really look into what is involved in the process and think long and hard about it :)
