Almost there

Just switched my CA reactor off going balling with a GHL over the next few months and slowly migrate all control over to the GHL

tbh i would like to go that route too, but right now i cant stretch to the tripple doser. i think its far more accurate that way and you dont ever get PH flucctuations like you do with the CA reactor. maybe il go that way after all. i was planning on having 3 months before any SPS any to build up some nice zoas and let the system mature a bit, we'll see

Those vortechs are going to cost you a pretty penny Do you think they are worth such a huge amount?

They give you many options seffie, i think the key to the fantastic SPS growth patterns is random flow. i may get one and something else, my LFS is having a bulk buy thing so they will be a little bit cheaper, thats why im kinda aiming for two. i like how little tank space they take up too. There will be atleast one on this tank though

I have to agree with Ben Vortechs are very very good worth everypenny I am looking at adding a mp20 to my current mp40 they look much nicer in the tank than normal pumps

2 x K4 = 140 rrp
1 x MP20 = 210 rrp

70 pound diffrence for same flow mp20 comes with built in wave maker to do the same with Koralias would need an addtional controller so there is not as much diffrence if you want waves

But anyone can buy 2 x k4 for £90 not the rrp of £140 - I have four in my tank

I agree they are great, but for my tank I would need 2 x mp40 and at the cheapest that is 2 x £299 (Ben, someone has eight of them for sale at that price on ebay!)

I would love to have them, but just couldn't justify that price tag

itsa hell of a lot of money, but this tank will be the one i can picture in my head, im so determind to make this one work out. So if they are the best then il have to save up

Lighting plans changed today. once again my silly head came out. Bought a 400w ballast, bulb and large lumenarc reflector. SPS will love this

Not too bad, especially if i can shift my current halide. that one bulb will now be enough for the whole tank. so long run it should save me

well at the end of the month my LFS is doing a vortech bulk buy, so ive saved up for that. hopefully there will be my name on 2 Mp40s.

ive hung the lumenarc and with a 14k bulb in it the tank looks so good.


i got a massive bargain from B&Q got teh doors and end panles off a gloss black and red kitchen.
was hoping to do you guys a pic update yesturday as i started putting them on, the black are magneted to the steel stand and the red are round a frame on top. they are 600 wide though, the fram is 1200 long to match the tank, so theres an inch in the middle where they dont shut because of how the hinges are thinking cap is on and hopefully i can sort it today after work. Ive got different handles, dont like those square ones.
