Basic Info

would i need 4? or would 2 be enough? one white and one blue?

i would realy like some corals but i have alot of reading up to do on them as i am clueless about them

would you like soft corals lps or sps or a mixture?
soft corals are the easiest to keep most can be kept under t8 lights. :good:

lps corals need t5 (which you have) 2 t5 will be fine but 4 would be better :good:
easy one are... hammer, frogspawn, torch, brain, trumpet and plate i have a few in them in my tank.

sps corals need more light 6 t5s+ would be best but i have a plating montipora under 4 t5s placed high up. but i have 4 reflectors :good:
hope this helps

Ok, dont laugh...........and stick with me

Soft corals are soft and most require simple lighting of at the least t8 but better t5

Hard (stoney) corals, yes, you guessed it, are hard, they have a skeleton, there are two sorts, Large polyped and small polyped - LPS and SPS

Now some of the lps, like euphyllia can can do well with 4 x t5 tubes but the 'sticks' or better known as sps mostly require higher lighting - metal halide, or combos of t5, MH

A good Christmas present would be 'The Book' :fun: it explains it all

the internet and other reefers are my bible :)

i have a 3ft reef and have 2 T5 whites, a T8 white and a T8 blue. i only have 3 hard corals and they are the basic ones, but i still think i need to change my 2 T8s for T5s to make it better
