Barney And Lyn's 5Ft Reef Tank (150G(Uk) System)

Stocking guides are really just that. Using a skimmer, etc and addied water in sump....if regular water changes are carried out and regular maintenance carried out there is definately room for some more, always remember to allow for growth but.
No reason why you couldnt risk a smaller tang or foxface in there....

Yeah I was thinking about maybe a small tang in there as most the fish I have will stay pretty small.

Blue check goby is a good idea too, at the moment though the tank is bare bottomed. I was planning on putting sand in there once I rescaped but I must admit it is a lot easier to maintain without the sand in the display so I might not bother with it.

ha your cat is going to catch so fish when your not looking lol

tank looks great and those toadstools are looking fantastic nice when they get bigger

and the chromis they also look fantastic in a shoal i am thinking about getting 15 of them some point

regards scott

wow barney looking good mate.

Love it when the cat goes for the tank and the chromis shoal really tightly. Then swim back to it for a bit of a tease

The anthia looks very bright...spotted the blanny doing its thing froma mile away too

Its funny because the cat completely ignored the tank until we put the other two anthias in. We have started shutting the living room doors at night now just in case he figures out that there isnt a lid on the tank :)

The chromis are amazing fish, photos and video really doesnt do them any justice, they add so much to the tank and their colours are amazing.

I was going to get rid of all the leathers to be honest as im not overly fond of them but I must admit that when you have a bunch of them all together they do start to look pretty good.

Only just noticed as well that when I converted the video its "squished" it a bit too. Will get round to taking some more photos at some point.

Looking real good and your toadstool forrest looks awsome :good:

Your cat is very cute indeed, what a sweetie, s/he will find the open top, just like my Billy did - he found the top when we were putting in the water................left loads of hair floating in there, skimmer made short work of them though :good:

ps Barney, just heard on the news that some of Kent is without power - you ok?

lol I'm at work at the moment and its fine here. Lyn is at home though and hasnt text me to say the power is out so hopefully we are ok :)

We where actually talking about getting a generator the other night when we had a big storm and the electric flicked off for a few seconds.

The cat is cute but can be a real pain in the neck. He has taken it into his head the last few weeks to start bring us home presents. Wasn't to bad when it was just moths but he has started on birds now. We used to leave the window open for him at night but now if he is out then he stays out. He had to have the tip of his tail removed awhile back because he broke it really badly. The funny thing is the fur on the tip of it has grown into a big poodle style puff ball :)

Must admit it is the one thing that really worries me - I did start to investigate a back up system but didn't get that far

Likewise..living out in the boonies here we get regular powercuts, worst recently was for almost 6 hours..everything seemed to take it in it's stride but. Been thinking about a small generator myself incase they ever last even longer.

best to get one with leccy start then, some spare spark plugs and always make sure you have fresh petrol as it goes off quite fast

We have a large genny, lots of spare plugs, lots of petrol as we use it in the chainsaw too.

It is a godsend, will power my tank, refridgerator (Andrew has expensive medical injections in there) and our TV. We have an LPG gas hob so can always do a brew and have the woodburning stove for heating.

Living in the sticks does have its advantages, you are more prepared IMO and IME.
