I've just called the Aquatronics company, in California, to confirm some information I received from my lfs, yesterday. The news is not good.

Aquatronics, the maker of many aquarium medications that we depend on in the U.S., is going Chapter 11. This means that in a short while their products will no longer be available for sale at your lfs.

According to the company representative I spoke to, they still have a supply available for shipment to lfs, so if you want to stock up your lfs can place an order by fax, direct to them, and expect to receive it. Their fax number is 805-486-2491.

Aquatronics is the maker of such popular medications as BettaMax, Kanacyn and Furacyn. Many of their products are used by fresh and salt water fishkeepers alike. Here's a link to their website:

chapter 11 doesnt measn they are going out of bussiness , I think it means they are just restructering to get relief from creditors. It could mean they are closing , but I think they could possibly pull out of this, my wifes company went into chapter 11 and pulled out just fine. (then again it could be another number and not 11 I am thinking of? :dunno: )

Hi rollntider :)

You're right about that.

The representative I spoke to told me that they are hoping to be able to come back and sell on the internet.

Of course, it might be a while......................... and when these things happen, it's always a maybe. :X
