Are You Ever 100% Happy With Your Tank?

it just eats away at you. i drive my husband mad about the way it looks  at least we have here.

Nope, never.

And whenever I do reach happiness with the tanks (though never 100%), all I wanna do is get a new one.

No, as with gardening nothing ever stands still in a fish tank. Fish come, whether you put them in yourself or as a happy surprise... they grow and sadly, they die and not always leaving behind convenient numbers of their species. The same goes for plants, some will grow rampant then others will be decidedly lacklustre or die off despite best efforts.

But for me that's what makes it addictive. Like my garden it will never be perfect. Something that looks great when you put it in can look awful after a fortnight, other stuff looks great once it has had time to bed in... but I get a lot of enjoyment from trying!

I am always rearranging my tank. I always look at it and decide it could be better.

Then I decide it looked better the first way and I move around again.

Not really ever 100% happy.
I was 90% until 4 of my crypt melted and now i have a huge space that needs filling and im too impatient to wait for them to re grow.
Im also having a battle with annoying suction cups that don't suck!
Stupid things like that niggle me as I strive for perfection!
My airlines have to be symmetrical.
OCD :)

I love my tank !!!! lol but there is always room for improvement. Whether that be aqua scaping or getting new inhabitants. i would say i am as happy with my tank as possible. And it took alot of hard work and about 1500$ to get it that way

I am totally happy with my main tank now. I never really tried much in the way of plants before, but about a year ago I bought a single swordplant, an Anubia, and a bunch of Elodea. Everything spread like crazy. I now have a green jungle in there that is so thick the fish have to push through the plants in many places. Looks really cool with Neons, a Blue Ram, and others in there.

no way, wen i think i'm done with it get bored n lose interest. It sprung a leak so i got the chance to start agen which has bin great fun replanting, restocking etc etc but very expensive! I'm nearly finished n already feeling a bit down coz its bin sooo much fun. I'm telling myself i can sit back n enjoy it now coz i'll need to keep messing if only to prune n replant the new shoots and hopefully that'll be enuf to satisfy me... Ummmm... We'll see lol :)

well i guess i wouldnt say 100% happy but i do finally have a tank that im proud of.

went from fake plants to all live.

pretty much just waiting for the plants to grow a bit bigger, gonna add some floating plants. but overall pretty content with my tank now.

having gone right off the hobby over the past year its not really a problem for me ( my son has a guppy tank in the lounge and the older kids have goldies uptairs.. but its not my bizz anymore :p) ,, but at one point it was!
i used to have up to 15 tanks running at any one time and every weekend was devoted to cleaning and re-arranging.. was never happy.. it becomes a compulsion
im sure the fish dont like having there homes pulled about for our satisfaction either lol

unlike you lot i will be spending this weekend cleaning and polishing my beautful.....car

have fun!

lol Now that you mention it, my car hasn't been washed since DEC  But I do 50% water changes and plant pruning on all 6 tanks every saturday!! :hyper:
