Api Testing Kit....

Apparently the kit says to hold it on the card.

I have heard holding it away from it. both give VERY different results. While trying to cycle i have just continued to do the same method to aid accuracy but once im done i want to make sure i don't under read the results.

I hold the tube on the white part of the card along side the coloured blocks.

Either way, when zero on the ammonia and nitrIte is achieved there is no mistaking the colours

I tend to put the tube infront of the coloured part of the card and see which colour is hardest to see. Probably wrong...but thats how i do it.

Hold it against the card...under a good light source preferably. And it's true...there really should be no mistaking the 0 Ammonia and Nitrites. The NitrAtes test however is a little bit more annoying.

The manual says hold it against the card,
possibly like 1 cm from it..
