I sent my laptop off and it was so bad that it could not be repaired, PC world are now sending me credit to buy a new laptop, I have two questions;

  • Will I be able to buy any laptop with the credit, or is it just for a replacement of the same model?
  • Will I be refunded the full price I paid, or what the laptop is worth now?

Thanks
Ace

Hah, it was very poorly made, the parts inside just came loose and I think something has hit the processor and smoke and shrapnal everywhere heh.

shrapnel! you must be the first person to be shot by a laptop ever! what make was it?

If I can use the credit to buy another laptop, I'm going to get a Dell Inspiron.

we just bought a dell netbook, and the build quality is crap on that aswell.

2 keys have fallen off in a month and the casing is already pretty badly scratched.

I have a 2.5 year old Dell inspiron and have had no problems with it. Except when the tab key got a bit sticky after some crumbs fell into it :blush: but I brushed them out and it's fine again. My husband got the 'same' model in spring - same model number but the insides are a better spec - and he's very pleased with his.

Dell XPS user here, pretty good lap top, getting on for 3 years now, I've also had an inspiron, that was good too, but I prefer the Toshiba Satelite.

ace the will do you credit for what they think the value was at the time of repair

i would go for an acer great specs cheap price

depends what you go for ignore the aspire range and got for the travelmate range much better quality
