Anyone Watch Prehistoric Park?

this nigel bloke is a good actor lol, if you have been watching this programme you will know whats happening for those of you that dont....

nigel wants to open a prehistoric park, full of all the different dinosaurs, before they get extinct. So his missions are to go back 100's of years to capture dinosaurs and bring them back to his dinosaur park which the dinosaurs will live for the rest of their lives.
you get the idea, its on saturdays not sure on the time though, and i think its on bbc1, oh and the effects are amazing

you haven't missed many episodes if you want to start watching it now

Yeah i love stuff like that, although prefer it when actors are kept to a minimum i.e. walking with monsters, beasts, dinosaurs etc and The Ballad of Big Al etc- although Nigel isn't a bad actor, i just find him and the others in the park slightly irritating sometimes.
Anyhoo...Yes! I love stuff like Prehistoric Park ! I thought the Cave bear and the prehistoric Rhino were pretty awesome in the last epicode i watched .

There are some annoying plot problems but otherwise it's enjoyable to watch.

1) If you equate it to a modern day game collectector, would you catch a lion by sending just one unarmed man into the lion's den? No? Well that's how they intended to catch a T.Rex!

2) The T.rex as a species was around for several millions of years, so why go back in time to the day before the comet strikes to collect one? Even a month before would have been a lot less dangerous!

Yeah i did find that a bit stupid of them too, they should have at least taken weapons to defend themselves.

I believe it is because they are taking prehistoric animals only from points in time when they are critically endangered or about to go extinct, as to help prevent messing too much with the course of evolution and history and stuff .
It would really suck for example if they took a T-Rex when their populations were thriving, when this T-Rex had actually just evolved an imunity against a certain desease and it was its offspring that later furthered the continued thriving of its species throughout the next couple of million of years etc...

I only watChed one episode before, but im watching It again now thanks to this thread .

My interest in this kind of thing is why i like triops so much, i have a species older than what you are seeing on TV now swimming around in my tank!

about the 'realisticness' (woot made up) of the program.

I think it's just designed to get other people interested in dinosaurs, other people meaning people who don't give a monkeys about them

my son loves this program an he's only 4! i bet he could name more dino's than me an alot of us put together lol he knows loads an got loads of books about them! i should know i'm the one that has try an pronounce them lol belive me some of them are not easy lol? he not like me in one ear out other he remembers everything lol?
must admit tho i found program a bit far fetched lol,
